Fantasy Lord Story

This was probably the most complete part of the project, which isn't saying much.

Fantasy Lord Plot ideas revised, with notes: (this will be somewhat unedited, but the idea should get across)

Uh-oh! Due to text export, some of this would be in italics, but is not. Just read it, and it should make some sense.

Main character will be a 16(?) year old boy. I up the age to make it a little more common... 14 seems young, although it could work. Ideas? He's at a military acadamy, sent there since he was the first son of a wealthy family, therefore he should be in the military. (A common idea in this universe) He spends a long, boring time there, then meets Anna. Anna is a 15 year old girl, who was sent to the academy on a probation deal after almost destroying an entire city block. This was an accident with a mysterious substance, Xenoacetylene. This will be probably called Xentel through most of the story, due to the troublingly long name. This is a new, manmade element that has been originally created by her father, a scientist whose work is unaccepted. The two quickly become friends, with him falling slightly in love with her. She is oblivious, of course, but they obviously are incredibly close. They rebegin study on Xentel, in direct opposition of the terms of her probation. They keep it quiet, but some people at the acadamy are not to be trusted.

The acadamy will be a really cool looking art deco building, with very Frank Lloyd Wrightish doors, windows, and otherwise. It's all very well-lit, and very cool.

This is where the game will begin. All the above will be shown in a in-game cinema (i.e. Chrono Trigger's cinemas) She finds herself, one night, working for hours and hours, after a strange note from her father. He tries to get her to stop, but she will not... He goes to a routine training exercise.
This will be a "get acquainted with the game, battle system, etc." area, where there will be a few places that you can look at, then a final test to ensure mastery. The mastery will be important, because he finds himself walking to Anna's room that night. He thinks he will ask her out on a date/whatever, something. On his way there, he hears a few rumors being whispered in the halls... An accident... Expelled... Trouble... He starts to run, to find guards blocking the hall. This is his first big battle, and he should kill 'em. If he loses, then he will make his way in there somehow, but there will be a benefit to winning. He finds his headmaster across from the door to her room. An in-game cinema follows, as we learn some of what fate befell her (this will be written better, just getting the idea across)... "We found Xentel in her room, but she was gone. All these notes were there, something about the future, her father, time, and odd things like that. We think that she had an accomplice, and when we find it, it will be driven out of this school and reprimanded severely."

He realizes there's no turning back, as the headmaster walks down the hall, and runs into the room, to find a new machine in the middle of the room. "That wasn't there before..." He looks around the room for any notes as to what it might be, to find taped underneath her desk (which of course will have a banker's lamp :P) a letter to him. He reads it, finding that she thinks this machine could be very important and that she was going to try a dangerous experiment. He decides to try to recreate the experiment, then finds that the headmaster is coming down the hall. Without taking many precautions, he flips the switches and feels small jolts going through his body as the headmaster walks into the room. The master pulls his sword, yelling at him to stop, when he pulls one small lever, and ZAM!

A strange effect goes through, and he finds himself in a whole different place. He's in a street, and all around him are bright lights, tall signs, and huge buildings. The buildings are impossible large, and almost seem to reach to the moon. He realizes that this is no place on Earth (of course, not Earth, but...) He finds himself walking down the streets, looking confused, as the streets turn into a maze of lights, large, insanely fast cars, and buildings. He suddenly walks into the first people that he's actually met since finding himself here. They are tough biker-type dudes, and give him a hard time, speaking of a curfew, and other odd things that he's never heard of. He primes himself for battle, and they engage. The bikers are level 99, or something, so it is impossible for the fight to continue, and our hero faints. Then, from nowhere, comes Anna and a strange looking girl. They ensue to lift you up, toss some bizarre flare, and then run out of there, with you in tow. You wake up, and see Anna sitting worriedly on a cot across the room, and the girl asleep. "Hello," she says, worriedly. "Are you okay?" A nod, a gesture, something from the hero to get the idea across. "Good... I'm sure you don't want to talk, so let me tell you a little about what's going on here." Maybe a cutscene here, to accompany the text, but who knows... My studies with Xentel were going very slowly, as you know, and I think that someone was close to discovering us and our work. Rather than risk you, I decided to make the final push yesterday. I did it at the prompting of a letter from my father. He was sure that something big was about to happen, a rip or something in space, a meteor, a bunch of things that would cause a perfect condition. "For what?" hero asks. "That's what I'm getting to, so just lie down. I was trying to make a matter transformer with Xentel and that machine. It would have been a great idea, and could do what the alchemists only dreamed... Gold to lead. Water to diamond. A fish to a lion. A lion to platinum. It would be an amazing invention, and it could have been the most important thing ever to reach the human race. It worked through the 4th dimension. By pulling things through time and back, they could become different. This had something to do with molecular output due to radiation, but that's not important. What's important is that it failed, I was sucked here, into 2465 A. Bloody D., and you follwed me. Oh, this is Thignaer, a girl I met when I first blasted into this hellhole.
He doesn't have time to respond, as a noise comes past your door. You look out the window, to see you are way up in the high levels of a building. "There's no escape" hero thinks, but hears it coming from something behind the door. You can battle them or give up, but either way, you end up in prison. The prison the three are dragged to is a quite ugly, dark dungeon, a steep contrast to the very "shiny" futuristic building he was in before.

I switch to second person here, for a little bit of clarity.

The cell you are in has no door, just glass walls all around. There seems to be no way out. You can fight and fight and fight, but nothing happens. Eventually, you lie down, and screen fades, until you hear a voice. "Xxx! XXX?" It's your headmaster, only...

I'll cut off here, but I hope you get the idea. Responses?

Sam

Don't you dig the cliffhanger ending?
